Introduction
We at StirDat may or may not have to deal with chargebacks in the future, usually chargebacks happen because people want a refund for their product, which in that case please contact us here. However sometimes chargebacks can be the case of fraud and we at StirDat take chargeback fraud extremely serious which is why we have a separate page just for discussing the precautions we have in place in case of chargeback fraud.
While we cannot ban chargebacks completely as it is a right to have the ability to ask for a chargeback. We can do our best to prevent us from falling victim to chargeback fraud. If you want to return a product or if you want a refund on your product you must abide by the returns refunds & exchanges policy. This policy gives you more than enough time to decide whether or not you like the product or if you need to return the product and want a refund because it is damaged.
1. Chargeback Basics
While not the only reason needed, one of the main reasons you need to file a chargeback is evidence that there has been a breach of contract (TOS) with your purchase (Ex. A person orders a product and it doesn't arrive and the firm doesn't give that person a refund). This is a valid example of a real chargeback. Chargeback fraud is when you call for a chargeback even though nothing that legally grants you permission for a chargeback is present.
2. Friendly Fraud
Friendly fraud is the scenario where you place an order with the card of a family member or person you are close to. A common scenario of this happening is a family member or person close to you places an order with your card by mistake, it is an accidental unauthorized transaction. In such cases, please contact us directly for assistance, as these are able to be resolved simply without a chargeback and a chargeback for us can cause delays for us. We will give you a refund if you request one. In most cases friendly fraud is just a mistake that may happen from time to time. It is not your fault if you accidently make a purchase on someone else's card that is close to you.
3. Security
This site uses 3D Secure (3DS) technology to protect your payment information. For transactions authenticated by 3DS, the financial liability for a fraudulent, unauthorized chargeback shifts to the card-issuing bank, protecting both you and our business.
4. How We Fight Back
In cases of proven fraud, our company reserves the right to pursue all available legal options to recover lost funds. This is a measure we use as a last resort to protect our business from malicious activity.
5. Authorized Chargebacks
In any case it is very inconvenient for us to deal with chargebacks. We kindly ask that if you are unsatisfied with your product or if your product is damaged to ask for a refund with us instead of issuing a chargeback. To contact us about anything click here! However in the event of an authorized chargeback we do not mind but it will be an inconvenience which is why we ask you to ask for refunds instead of chargebacks. If you did not receive your product (which in this event you will be contacted of any obscurities and will be issued a refund), that chargeback is valid. In our terms of service we disclose that the products we sell have measurements that are calculated meaning that it wont be 100% accurate, however this does not stop you from filing a chargeback. If you are not happy with your product we strongly encourage you to go for a refund instead of a chargeback.
